Concerts at De Twee Pauwen
Fine art Gallery De Twee Pauwen has the pleasure to announce a new concert in our series of musical events at the gallery. Whereas the gallery is an beautiful location to admire the display of artworks, the accoustics are also excellent to play and listen to music.
On Tuesday the 16th of September at 8 PM you will be able to listen to the international quartet Rembrandt & Staalmeesters Wind Instruments. The ensemble plays works composed by Rembrandt Frerichs which are firmly rooted in classical music but with a freedom for the musicians to improvise as we know from jazz music. It brings the two genres together in a unique and open way. It is often not realised that composers like Mozart and Beethoven required musicians to improvise which created more informal and spotaneous performances than what we are used to at present.
The “Rembrandt and the Staalmeesters” is an ensemble whose members are highly skilled professionals. Rembrandt Frerichs, Maria Cristina Gonzales, Maripepa Contreras and Jesse Brevé.
During the break you will be able to talk with the musicians and enjoy a drink.
