Bastardoz, Patrick

French painter Patrick Bastardoz feels that the construction of buildings and industrial sites have a common ground with “building” a painting. He uses the theme of building to study painting techniques, the use of shapes and material, layering. On his linnen Patrick construct foundations, a skeleton and the final design as a building project. His technique is very transparent allowing the building proces to be visible.

This way of working steered Patrick to painitng industrial sites and builidings – showing their unexpected beauty.

Patrick Bastardoz born in 1970 in Strasbourg. Studied at the University of Strasbourg at the faculty of Fine Arts. Patrick lives and  works as an artist and tutor in Strasbourg.  He has exhibited his works since 2000 in solo en group exhibitions in France, Holland, Belgium, England and Germany.
